    General Job Overview: The Assistant to Assistive Technology Specialist will support Forbes AAC’s team of Assistive Technology Specialists (ATS) to ensure efficient workflow, excellent customer service, and impactful outcomes for individuals relying on AAC. This position assists ATS team members with administrative tasks, device preparation, scheduling, documentation, and customer follow-ups, enabling the specialists to dedicate more time to direct client interactions.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Assist in setting-up and programming speech devices, alternative access methods, and mounting systems for ATS setups.

    Assist in scheduling customer visits and training sessions.

    Document interactions, customer feedback, and follow-ups to ensure accuracy and transparency.

    Help manage communication with recommending Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) and families as needed.

    Participate in team meetings, training, and collaborative discussions.

    Coordinate the logistics of monthly loan equipment meetings.

    Respond to customer inquiries when appropriate, escalating them to ATS team members as necessary.

    Maintain clear and concise records of activities in customer management systems.

    Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the team's overall efficiency and effectiveness.

    Competencies:

    Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.

    Adaptability in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

    Proficiency in basic technical troubleshooting and familiarity with assistive technology (preferred).

    Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required.

    Education and Experience:

    Bachelor’s degree preferred.

    SLP, SLP-A, OT, COTA preferred

    Experience in an administrative or technical support role, ideally within the assistive technology or healthcare field.

    Knowledge of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) is beneficial but not required.
