    ABOUT THE COALITION

    The Coalition for the Homeless of Houston/Harris County (CFTH) has received recognition as

    the lead agency of one of the nation’s most successful and effective Homeless Response

    Systems (HRS). Along with its more than 100 other community partners, CFTH has

    transformed the city of Houston and surrounding counties by decreasing homelessness by more

    ABOUT THE POSITION

    We’re looking for someone interested in providing high-level support to the CFTH financial and

    grant management operations. This position will be responsible for various accounting tasks,

    financial analysis, and reporting requirements. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and

    organized, with a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work independently and collaborate

    effectively within a team. An overview or responsibilities include general ledger management

    and reconciliation, invoice and expense processing and reporting, accounts payable &

    receivable, financial reporting, compliance & auditing, monthly grant billing and accounting,

    monthly, quarterly, and yearly reporting, and other related tasks.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Cash receipts which include reviewing for accuracy, collaborating with Development

    Team for coding, data input into accounting software to tie to bank reconciliation.

    2. Accounts payable bill management to include importing, coding of allowable/disallowed

    funds, digital documentation storage, processing checks.

    3. Maintain Vendor files including W-9 collection and ACH documentation.

    4. Ensure accounts payable are set up accurately with Sales Tax Exemption.

    5. Process Employee Payroll Expense reimbursements through expense software

    reporting to HR for monthly reimbursement.

    6. Process credit card transactions using expense software including coding, receipt

    capture, reconciling to credit card statements and processing entry.

    7. Manage digital documentation from accounts payable, cash receipts and payroll

    transactions.

    8. Provide reporting needed by Finance Manager and Director of Finance.

    9. Provide support during annual audit with special emphasis on providing documentation

    needed for the single audit.

    10. Provide support as needed for the budget process.

    11. Cross-training to act as back-up support for Accounting Programs.

    12. Other duties as assigned.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    1. Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and 2 years’ experience in an accounting or

    finance role for a complex organization OR associate degree in accounting or finance

    and 4 years’ experience in an accounting or finance position for a complex organization,

    OR a high school diploma or GED and at least 6 years’ experience in an accounting or

    finance role for a complex organization.

    2. Advanced knowledge of excel such as pivot tables, vlookups, and logical formulas.

    3. Advanced knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

    1. Experience in a high-volume accounts payable environment

    2. Non-Profit experience

    3. Experience with fund

    accounting for government and/or private grants.

    4. Bill-Pay applications; i.e. Bill.com, Concur

    5. Accounting Software Applications: MIP, Sage Intaact, NetSuite and/or SAP

    REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

    1. Ability to work with and to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages,

    ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

    2. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

    3. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or

    diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

    4. Agility and flexibility in learning new technologies including business intelligence tools

    and operational management software.

    5. Well-developed analytical skills, critical thinking skills and communication skills.

    6. Must be able to work well with others throughout the operations of the business.

    7. Proven ability to read and interpret financial documents and ability to write routine

    reports and correspondence.

    8. Ability to manage large volume transactions.

    9. Proven ability to apply GAAP standards and verify the accuracy of data presented for

    processing and providing options/recommendations for resolution.

    10. Forward thinking and ability to solve problems to find the most efficient and accurate

    resolution.

    11. Ability to meet deadlines.

    12. Ability to be flexible to new program requirements presented and adapt to the adjusted

    terms of policies and procedures.

    13. Ability to exercise discretion and ensure a high-level of confidentiality.

    14. Ability to multi-task to meet all deadlines from multiple requesting entities.

    This is a full-time, non-exempt position. CFTH deeply values fair and equitable wages that
