Associate Attorney (Associate) must be strongly committed to achieving excellent results for Brighter Day Law (Firm) clients through competent advocacy, demonstrating effective and efficient problem-solving and communication on all client matters. We seek a litigation advocate who represents Firm clients in court cases and other kinds of adversarial legal proceedings, such as arbitrations and mediations. Must be proficient with court pleadings, and court processes, well-spoken, and comfortable presenting cases in front of judges, magistrates, and arbiters. Associate must communicate with clients on legal strategy and case status clearly and concisely. You will be responsible for demonstrating team leadership, excellent oral advocacy, writing and negotiation skills. Associate is expected to bring their A-game to every interaction, striving to exceed expectations, ensuring every team member is empowered and equipped to provide unparalleled support. You work well with other attorneys, staff, and clients by functioning from a mindset of versatile thinking, blending strategy and innovation. When it comes to problem-solving, you close the gap by simplifying legal challenges to help families quickly solve problems. Associate is present emotionally, mentally, and physically for team members and clients, and able to be “in it” with people without being rattled. Associate is expected to show clients compassion while practicing intentional detachment from chaos and should remain confident and unbothered by the opposition. Responsibilities: • Manages complete caseload handling responsibilities from inception through settlement, trial, and/or final disposition. • Foster and maintain an excellent rapport with clients through consistent communication. • Effectively interview clients to understand their legal concerns, provide legal advice, and developing ethical solutions and strategies. • At every touchpoint, build cases in preparation for settlement negotiations and/or trials to meet client goals in a favorable and cost-efficient manner. • Analyze case-specific legal issues and documentation to develop sound and persuasive arguments. • Regularly consult with clients, experts, witnesses, and other parties as needed to effectively move cases forward. • Advise clients about legal options, making them aware of the possible outcomes and risks. • Appear with clients at case-related meetings, settlement conferences, and mediation. • Appear and/or litigate in court. • Prepare legal documents necessary for the case, such as pleadings, agreements, and orders in a timely and accurate manner. • Assist clients with the execution of documents and/or agreements. • Conduct case reviews weekly. • Meet all deadlines including but not limited to those imposed by statute, rules, court orders, governing and regulatory bodies, Firm policy, and/or set by agreement. • Respond to any internal or external communication by close of business the day following its receipt. • Provide leadership, direction, and support to paralegals and legal assistants. • Work as part of a team with all levels of experience. • Cultivate relationships with the firm's existing and future clients. • Attend legal stand-up daily, “All Hands” stand-up weekly, Brighter Day Way Ahead monthly, and practice-group and firm-wide meetings, training, and retreats as scheduled. Qualifications: Culture: • Skills and experience are appreciated and valued, but drive, optimism, and a helpful nature are extremely important considerations. High-maintenance, humorless, entitled, or self-important individuals will not succeed in this position and need not apply. Reporting Relationship: • Associate performs duties under the direction of the managing attorney and/or lead attorney or senior attorney to whom they may be assigned. The Associate’s employment relationship with the Firm is overseen by the managing attorney. Authority: • Associate must be licensed to practice law in Colorado and in good standing in all jurisdictions and/or Courts where licensed. Compensation: $90,000 - $130,000
