Our firm is hiring an associate attorney who will support us by conducting legal research, drafting documents, maintaining client files, and assisting with legal counsel. The ideal candidate will have some courtroom experience and strong legal research and writing skills. Responsibilities: • Attend court hearings or other legal proceedings, perform legal research, and work with senior associate attorneys to provide legal advice • Maintain client files in an organized fashion to ensure up-to-date information is handy for other attorneys, paralegals and support staff • Resolve cases efficiently by using communicating effectively with and working alongside senior attorneys and paralegals • Draft documents such as correspondence, pleadings, motions, briefs, affidavits, settlement agreements, and contracts to be used proceedings and contract negotiations • Assist clients in determining a proper solution to legal conflicts and determine the best course of action • Your daily tasks would vary and consist of all aspects of working cases in the litigation process from the filing of the Summons and Complaint to the completion of the settlement or verdict. You must be able to work with others and enjoy leading. You must be a kind and thoughtful person whom clients and coworkers can depend on. • Prepare correspondence and legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and proceedings. • Review client issues on legal matters, analyze available options, and diligently work to determine the best course of action. • Communicate with associates, paralegals, and clients to ensure cases are handled efficiently. Qualifications: • Prepared to learn from senior attorneys to meet our client needs and grow our client base • Effective communication skills and problem-solving skills are necessary to work with all levels of staff and clients • Active member of the American Bar Association (ABA) • Candidates must have passed the bar exam • Has a Juris Doctor (J.D. degree) from an accredited law school We are looking for someone who knows personal injury law and has handled all aspects of the litigation process including discovery, depositions, arbitrations, motions, mediations, trials, etc. This is Not the position for a first-year associate, out-of-state attorney, or person looking to change practice areas. This is a position for a person looking for a place to land, plant roots, and enjoy a fruitful future. • Active Member of the Washington State Bar Association • Fluency in a second language appreciated • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree required from an accredited law school Compensation: $125,000 - $140,000 yearly DOE
