The firm is renowned for its expertise in complex Trusts and Estates matters and offers exceptional legal services in Real Estate, Corporate, and Litigation practice areas.     We are seeking a highly motivated Associate Attorney with a minimum of 2 years of experience in Trusts and Estates to join our team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong passion for estate planning, trust administration, and probate matters, exhibit determination and perseverance, and find motivation and fulfillment in making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Advise clients on estate planning strategies, including tax minimization, creditor protection, accomplishing family goals, etc.

    • Draft various estate planning documents including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and more complex documents when required.

    • Preparation of gift and estate tax returns.

    • Handle trust and estate administration matters, including asset collection, valuation, basis updating, and distribution.

    • Represent clients in probate proceedings and provide guidance through the probate process.

    • Work closely with and report to the firm’s managing partner on complex cases and strategic decisions.

    • Conduct legal research and remain up-to-date on developments in Trusts and Estates law.

    • Collaborate with clients, beneficiaries, financial advisors, and other professionals to achieve client objectives.

    • Manage a diverse caseload efficiently, ensuring deadlines are met and client needs are addressed.

    Qualifications:

    • At least 2 years of experience in Trusts and Estates law, including estate planning, trust administration, and probate.

    • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

    • Active license to practice law in Illinois.

    • Strong drafting skills with attention to detail.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-centered approach.

    • Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines effectively.

    • Familiarity with estate planning software and tools is a plus.
