Small firm in Williamsburg looking to hire associate attorney to work closely with senior attorney on wide-range of civil litigation matters from aviation law to inheritance disputes in federal and state courts throughout Virginia. You will have an early opportunity to be in court, and be exposed to a wide variety of legal topics. We offer competitive salary and option for 401k, but no health benefits are available at this time. This is an in-person job. Applicants should live in the Peninsula or Middle Peninsula area, or have plans to move to the region. Responsibilities: • Assist clients in determining a proper solution to legal conflicts and determine the best course of action • Create legal documents, including correspondence, briefs, motions, pleadings, contracts, affidavits, and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and proceedings • Conduct legal research, prepare for and attend hearings and/or other legal proceedings, and provide legal counsel with the help of senior associate attorneys Qualifications: • Exceptional communication skills and problem-solving skills needed in order to work with all levels of staff and our clients • Has a Juris Doctor (J.D. degree) from an accredited law school • Prepared to learn from senior attorneys to meet our client needs and grow our client base Compensation: $82,500
