Our firm is hiring an associate attorney who will support us by conducting legal research, drafting documents, maintaining client files, and assisting with legal counsel. The ideal candidate will have some courtroom experience and strong legal research and writing skills. Responsibilities: • Draft documents such as correspondence, pleadings, motions, briefs, affidavits, settlement agreements, and contracts to be used proceedings and contract negotiations • Attend court hearings or other legal proceedings, perform legal research, and work with senior associate attorneys to provide legal advice • Collaborate with clients and senior associates and other staff to move cases toward resolution efficiently • Keep files organized to make sure the most recent updates are accessible to other attorneys, paralegals, and staff • Review client issues on legal matters, analyze available options, and diligently work to determine the best course of action • Represent clients at USCIS for green card and citizenship interviews. • Represent clients in Immigration Court for bond and removal defense such as Cancellation of Removal cases. • Review files for supervising attorney. • Perform legal research and write briefs, motions, and pleadings. Qualifications: • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree required from an accredited law school • Applicants must have successfully passed the state bar exam • Active membership with the American Bar Association (ABA) • Prepared to learn from senior attorneys to meet our client needs and grow our client base • Solid communication skills and problem-solving skills required in order to work with clients, staff members and senior attorneys Required Qualifications: • Fluent in English and Spanish (speaking and writing). • Good standing with any bar of U.S. jurisdiction. • Minimum of 1-2 years experience in immigration law. • Must have high emotional intelligence for effective communication and problem-solving. Candidates awaiting bar result with limited immigration law experience will be considered on a case-by-case Compensation: $70,000 - $80,000 yearly
