    ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY – MIDLEVEL

    (Years 3-5)

    The Associate Attorney –Mid-Level position (“Associate”) is an exempt, professional position, and reports directly to the Managing Attorney. The Associate will handle his/her own cases, and will provide general support to the more senior Legal Team members. The Associate endeavors to be a spokesperson for the Firm in the legal and greater community.

    The Associate’s responsibilities include:

    1. Maintain a minimum of 1700 billable hours per year, of which 50 may be designated as pro bono or billed at a significantly reduced rate;

    2. Represent clients in all forms of family law matters, including litigation and transactional practices;

    3. Draft legal pleadings and documents;

    4. Timely respond to all client telephone calls and emails within the contractual obligation set forth in the Firm’s Engagement Letter, or direct Junior Associates to do so;

    5. Oversee the timeline and presentation of service of discovery and preparation of discovery responses;

    6. Complete 9 hours of marketing each month;

    7. Exhibit unwavering professionalism and ethical integrity.

    It is expected that the Associate will:

    • Participate in CLEs in order to fine-tune litigation skills and techniques;

    • Enroll and attend meetings with the local Bar Association;

    • Endeavor to become a published author in his/her field;

    • Attend professional conferences;

    • Develop business for the firm, as follows:

    o Year 3 – no less than two (2) clients per quarter;

    o Year 4 – no less than four (4) clients per quarter;

    Year 5 – no less than seven (7) clients per quarter
