The firm is seeking an Associate Attorney with a focus on real estate law. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with less than five years of experience to join a collaborative team and eventually step into a leadership role. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in real estate law and the drive to grow their practice. Responsibilities :
- Provide comprehensive legal counsel to a diverse client base in real estate transactions, including property purchases, sales, leases, financing, and refinancing.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of real estate-related documents, including purchase agreements, commercial leases, deeds, easements, and loan agreements.
- Offer expert legal advice to clients on zoning regulations, land use issues, environmental concerns, title disputes, and other critical real estate matters, ensuring full legal compliance.
- Manage and resolve disputes related to real estate transactions, including overseeing litigation, arbitration, or mediation processes when necessary.
- Assist in conducting thorough due diligence for commercial and residential property acquisitions, identifying and mitigating any potential risks or legal obstacles.
- Research and stay current on state and federal real estate laws, case law, and industry trends, ensuring that the firm's legal advice remains accurate and up-to-date.
- Collaborate closely with senior attorneys and other professionals in the firm to handle complex cases and transactions, providing strategic support and expertise as needed.
- Participate in business development initiatives to expand the firm's real estate practice, including client acquisition, networking, and marketing efforts.
- Take on increasing responsibility for managing client relationships, building trust, and ensuring client satisfaction through effective communication and proactive problem-solving.
- Mentor and guide junior attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants, providing support with legal research, case preparation, and procedural tasks.
- Play an instrumental role in the development and expansion of the firm's real estate department, including assisting in strategic decision-making and long-term planning.
- Demonstrate a commitment to growth within the firm, working toward assuming leadership responsibilities and eventually managing the firm's operations as it continues to scale.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school, with strong academic performance.
- Less than 5 years of experience practicing real estate law, preferably with experience in both transactional matters (such as acquisitions and leasing) and real estate litigation.
- Proven ability to draft, negotiate, and manage real estate contracts and documents with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- A solid understanding of local, state, and federal real estate laws, as well as zoning, land use, and environmental regulations.
- Experience in handling complex real estate transactions, including residential and commercial property deals, lease negotiations, and property management issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal issues to clients in a clear and understandable manner.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cases or transactions simultaneously, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a client-focused approach, including the ability to build and maintain lasting relationships with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
- Highly motivated, self-starter with the ambition and drive to take on leadership roles, grow professionally, and contribute to the long-term success of the firm.
- A collaborative team player who is comfortable working closely with senior attorneys, other staff members, and external professionals.
