Job Description

We are seeking an Associate Designer to support the development & execution of the Vuori Women’s Fitness team. This individual will be responsible for supporting the team as design process for assigned product categories, including but not limited to: concept, research, design, tech sketch creation, trim selection, fitting, and finessing product. To be effective in this role, the individual must be eager to learn and support the team in any way needed, have an eye for elevated design, and have a basic understanding of Vuori aesthetics. We are looking for someone who is passionate about the performance apparel space, Vuori’s mission and will embody the brand’s values.

As an Associate Designer on the Women’s Design Team at Vuori Clothing, you will play a pivotal role in creating innovative, stylish, and functional apparel and accessories for our customers.

Qualifications

What you'll get to do:

• Supporting Fitness Team with day to day needs as well as throughout the design process.
• Managing an assortment of styles within your category, working closely with senior team members to develop design-informed solutions for our customers.
• Researching preseason trends, style inspiration, fabrics and trims.
• Maintaining an understanding of the cultural and competitive market trends as they relate to the Vuori customer.
• Integrating market knowledge, trend research, and insights from our community to create designs that are functional, innovative, and with high execution.
• Demonstrating a strong understanding of apparel market trends and competitive landscape
• Maintaining organization of category’s inspiration closet
• Attending and assist in fittings, taking notes as needed
• Ability to communicate ideas through sketching and CAD
• Technical sketch creation & updates using Illustrator
• Ensuring the accurate communication of design intent through the fitting process, collaborating with the in-house team to create mockups and prototypes.
• Promoting teamwork and clear communication within the Product cross-functional teams, including Development, Technical Design, Merchandising, and Materials.
• Maintaining keen attention to detail throughout the product development process to create technically excellent performance apparel and accessories that seamlessly blend style and function.
• Responsible for meeting deadlines and staying organized.

Who you are:

• Bachelor’s degree in Design (BA, BFA, or BS) or equivalent experience needed.
• 3+ years of experience in the apparel industry.
• Performance apparel experience required
• Proficient at Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft PowerPoint, Office and Excel.
• PLM experience a plus.
• Knowledge of 3D design is a plus.
• Strong understanding of competitive market and fashion trends.
• Must live in the San Diego area or be willing to relocate.

The salary range for this role is $80,000 per year - $92,000 per year.
