The Opportunity: This is a role where the successful candidate can execute lab-based research while also serving as a day-to-day coach to lab-based scientists. This requires strong time management, the ability to prioritize effectively and the capacity to shift gears seamlessly. Direct scientific responsibilities include the design and execution of scientific research associated with IntegerBio’s current and future assets to support successful development of new medicines. The incumbent collaborates with cross functional colleagues to discover and optimize novel therapeutics. Understanding disease pathogenesis in the context of viral infection and inflammation is key to this role.
The role reports to the Vice President, Immunology.
Essential functions
Lab Based Research and Scientific Excellence (approximately 50% time)
Design and execute research experiments by employing cutting edge immunology, cell and molecular biology techniques for in vitro/ex vivo and in vivo studies
Participate in the design, execution and analysis of Preclinical and Clinical translation studies necessary to enable a planned IND for Integer’s lead candidate.
Analyze and interpret complex data sets, providing insights and recommendations for project advancement
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate immunological insights into broader research and development efforts as well as project strategy
Stay abreast of the latest advancements in immunology and contribute to the identification of emerging trends and technologies
Contribute to the preparation and review of scientific publications, regulatory documents, and grant proposals.

Scientific Leadership and Management(approximately 50% time)
Translate strategic direction and oversee project execution and timeline management
Collaborate with senior leadership to define scientific priorities and research goals, leveraging expertise in immunology to guide the design of experiments and contribute to the development of novel therapeutic approaches
Ensure the successful planning, execution, and delivery of preclinical and translational research projects, balancing scientific rigor with timelines, budget, and resource allocation.
Provide scientific guidance, direction and coaching to in-house research team and external research partners
Manage external partners: Oversee engagements, including translational/clinical immunology studies delivered via CROs ensuring high-quality performance, timely deliverables, and alignment with the company's scientific objectives and regulatory standards.

Salary Range - Associate Director, Immunology:
Individual base pay depends on various factors, including for example, an applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location. This role is eligible for additional incentive compensation, including merit increases, annual bonus (depending on individual and company performance) and a new hire equity grant.
