A mid-sized law firm based in Ohio is seeking a junior to mid-level associate to join its nationally recognized Directors and Officers Liability (D&O) practice. The team represents domestic and international insurers, handling complex and sophisticated professional lines insurance matters.

Job Title: Associate – Directors & Officers Liability Group
Location: Columbus, Ohio (In office)

The Opportunity:

• Gain hands-on experience by analyzing third-party insurance policies, drafting coverage opinions, and advising insurance company clients.
• Work directly with clients and opposing counsel, managing correspondence and assisting in high-stakes insurance coverage matters.
• Monitor and evaluate complex claims, including securities class actions, derivative lawsuits, and other litigation against insureds.
• Develop litigation skills by conducting legal research, drafting memoranda, and assisting in federal and state court cases.
• Participate in mediations and case strategy discussions, gaining exposure to sophisticated legal proceedings in a nationally recognized practice area.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Licensed to practice in Ohio (or planning to obtain admission).
• Excellent legal writer and quick learner looking for hands-on experience.
• Experience in commercial litigation, corporate work in a private practice or public sector is a plus but not required.
• Adaptable and eager to take on new challenges, regardless of prior related experience.
• Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and independently.
