    Litigation Associate – Employment or Complex Commercial Litigation | Columbia, SC

    Our client, a leading international labor and employment law firm, is seeking a Litigation Associate with 3-5 years of experience to join its team in Columbia, South Carolina. This position is ideal for a motivated attorney with a strong litigation background who is interested in building or continuing a career in employment law within a collaborative and high-performance environment.

    About the Role:

    The associate will handle litigation matters from inception to resolution, including:

    • Drafting and responding to pleadings and motions

    • Managing all stages of discovery

    • Taking and defending depositions

    • Participating in mediations, arbitrations, and trials

    • Providing strategic counsel to clients in dynamic workplace environments

    While prior experience in employment law is preferred, the firm welcomes candidates with substantial defense-side litigation experience in complex commercial matters who are enthusiastic about transitioning into labor and employment law.

    Qualifications:

    • 3-5 years of experience in employment litigation or complex commercial litigation

    • Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills

    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment

    • Strong academic credentials

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

    • Committed to professional growth and delivering high-quality client service

    • Admission to the South Carolina Bar (or eligibility via UBE score transfer) is required
