    Job Description

    The Opportunity:
    Mattel is currently seeking an Associate Manager Procurement – Marketing and Media in El Segundo, CA. This role will assist the Senior Manager to manage the strategic sourcing and category management activities associated with the primary Marketing categories below:

    • Agency Partners Traditional and Digital agency partners including, but not limited to; Public Relations, Offline and Online Creative, Content Development, Influencer, etc.
    • Media: Partners that assist in the development and execution of media plans
    • Production: All partners that may be included in the development and execution of traditional and online consumer communications

    What Your Impact Will Be:

    • Engage with business stakeholders to assist in executing category strategies and support on-going sourcing activities.
    • Identify value improvement and costs savings opportunities across spend categories to achieve annual financial targets.
    • Assist with analytics that will provide internal business partners with clear insight into cost drivers, risks, and opportunities.
    • Assist key stakeholders and Procurement Team to execute strategic sourcing initiatives which include but not limited to gathering sourcing requirements, vendor screening, preparing, and conducting RFx’s
    • Potential to engage in vendor negotiations, manage supplier relationships, and contract development and execution with guidance and support from Senior Manager.
    • Drive a consistent approach towards sourcing process including procure-to-pay, contract management, process and system improvement, and customer service.
    • Build and maintain collaborative partnerships with internal stakeholders through active listening and problem solving to gain a position of influence as a trusted advisor.
    • Maintain collaborative relationships with suppliers while effectively resolving supplier performance/capability issues to ensure alignment with internal stakeholder expectations and contractual obligations.
    • Support adhoc initiatives outside of Corporate Services category as needed.

    What We’re Looking For:

    • Minimum 5 years experience Indirect Procurement as an analyst or part of the category management team highly preferred.
    • Highly organized
    • Demonstrated analytical ability
    • Demonstrable ability to see the “big picture” as well as focus on details
    • Ability to formulate and communicate strategic goals a plus
    • Demonstratable ability to multi task and work in fluid environment
    • Demonstrable ability to learn and take feedback
    • Knowledge and experience with Coupa S2P system (including CSO) is highly preferred.
    • Ability to work independently, is self-motivated, and does not require micromanagement.
    • High level of integrity and ethics.

    The annual base salary range for this position is between $105,600-$130,000.

    **This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however annual base salary will be determined based on a candidate’s work location, skills and experience.
