    Reach to Win Youth Home and Family Services is a Short Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP) facility that provides residential and mental health services to girls ages 12 to 17 years old.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: The Mental Health Associate Therapist works under the Clinical Director and provides mental health care services with a focus on trauma-based informed therapeutic services to children, youth and families, while gaining hours toward licensure.

    ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

    Assists in performing evaluations and periodic re- evaluations of residents describing the level of psychosocial impairment, physical health problems, self-care potential, support network availability, adequacy of living arrangements, financial status, employment status and potential training or educational needs.

    Visually reviews medical, psychosocial, school and other records.

    Meets with residents, families, treatment staff, placement staff, consultants, and other agency personnel to evaluate needs and services for the resident.

    Aids in the development of the written individual Mental Health Treatment Plan and Crisis or Safety Plans as needed, identifying and linking the resident and family's needs and strengths with the identified goals negotiated with the resident and family.

    Intervenes by telephone or in person with the resident in an emergency crisis to provide support and assistance in problem resolution.

    Provides interventions for the resident and family to improve resident's behavioral outcomes as indicated on the Mental Health Treatment Plan and make recommendations on funding allocations to Head of Service.

    Monitors, supports and assists the resident in developing or maintaining skills needed to achieve the Mental Health Treatment Plan, including medical, dental and psychiatric services, guidance in money management, and the use of educational, socialization, rehabilitation and other social services.

    Identifies, assesses and mobilizes resources to meet the resident's needs including consultation and intervention with social security, welfare, and health departments and other community agencies and resources as necessary.

    Interacts with residents and staff as needed in the coordination of services.

    Interacts on behalf of the resident with family, friends, legal guardian, and significant others to initiate and maintain supportive networks. Acts as liaison with the resident's Child and Family Team (CFT) to attend meetings, participate and advocate for the resident and family, and ensure action items are followed.

    QUALIFICATIONS: AMFT, ACSW or APCC

    Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, childcare counseling, education or development from an accredited college or university is required.

    Experience: Four (4) years direct service experience with severely emotionally disturbed children in an inpatient or outpatient health care setting (internship and/or practicum time may be substituted). Experience in the following Trauma Based Informed therapy is preferred: ⦁ Substance Abuse ⦁ Family Therapy ⦁ CBTP ⦁ CSEC ⦁ Individual/Group Therapy
