    _ Responsibilities_

    CNBC Digital is looking to hire a talented associate reporter to join the NYC-based Make It brand. CNBC Make It is a popular, consumer-friendly publication, devoted to helping young professionals be smarter and more successful with their businesses, money, work, and lives.

    The associate reporter will be a member of the Money team. They will be responsible for reporting and writing engaging personal finance-focused content that inspires the curious reader. The ideal candidate will have strong writing and reporting skills, an interest in money, and a knack for making complex subjects interesting and relatable.

    _ What you'll do:_

    • Work on assignments at the direction of editors
    • Report and write aggregated and original stories -- from relevant news and trend stories to advice and service pieces -- around personal finance, investing, and business
    • Support reporters and senior reporters with additional data collection and reporting as needed
    • Generate story ideas
    • Contribute to multi-platform coverage when needed
    • Use social media to distribute and promote content
    • Open to constructive criticism and guidance from editors
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    _ What you'll bring:_

    • You have at least 1 year of experience at a large online content destination, such as a major online news site or financial newspaper
    • Proven ability to report and write accurately and clearly in a fast-paced, deadline-driven news environment
    • Highly motivated, extremely organized, detail-oriented, outstanding communication and coordination skills
    • Familiarity with following and reporting on personal finance topics
    • Familiarity and comfort with social media
    • Ability to make financial stories relatable and convey how they could impact readers personally

    • You have a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
    • You're passionate about digital storytelling, personal finance, and creating the best user experience online
    • You possess knowledge of or interest in the business world or financial news

    • Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
