Job Description
We are looking for a bright, proactive and ambitious Associate Reporter to be a part of the NBC News Social Newsgathering Team. This candidate will be tasked with finding and verifying visual content and information online to support storytelling across all NBC News platforms.
The ideal candidate should have a passion for news and knowledge of social media platforms, as well as interviewing and reporting skills. The candidate should be able to work in a deadline-driven environment, take direction well, understand domestic and foreign news, and excel at discovering and critically examining information, photos and videos across social and digital platforms. The Associate Reporter will join a team that develops innovative approaches to gathering information and telling stories, serving all NBC News digital, television and streaming brands.
A candidate with previous experience working in a newsroom is preferred. This candidate should be comfortable covering a wide range of stories, from breaking news to investigative topics to pop culture. The ideal candidate must be a team player who is comfortable collaborating across platforms and departments, and who is willing to regularly work evenings and weekends.
