We are seeking a Veterinarian with an interest in general medicine, surgery, and dentistry. The position will provide mentoring for new graduates with a competent and positive staff in a supportive environment. We are primarily small animal with a case majority of dogs, followed by cats. We see special species cases at veterinarian discretion and offer surgery on small mammals. We have a large boarding and daycare facility and provide services to the animals in our care over the course of their stay. We have a significant surgical caseload with a high density of dental procedures. We partner with the Chester Country Sheriff's Department K9 Unit and provide a field for their training in search and rescue, explosive/contraband detection/agility/recall/and detainment training. Staff involvement is encouraged. We completely sponsor the medical care of the Chester County canine officers.
We are situated on 10 acres in West Chester Pennsylvania with an educated clientele demographic that is capable and willing to provide gold-standard care for their pets. Our property is completely fenced and we offer an extensive outdoor daycare program. Our facility is very modern and underwent recent complete renovation. Our record-keeping software is cloud based and completion of medical records from home is allowed within a 24 hour period of the exam being generated. All of our computers are new and highly efficient. We have 3 spacious and fully equipped exam rooms each equipped with otoscope, ophthalmoscope, and all equipment necessary to perform full physical exam. Fold down tables provide large floor space to work with larger patients. An exam room with private entrance/exit is provided as a comfort room or for contagious and aggressive patients. We have a complete Abaxis in-house lab providing chemistry, complete blood count, and automated urinalysis. High-end Olympus microscope, spectrometer, tonometry, and rapid MHT spin centrifuge. 10L/min oxygen concentrator with central scavenge throughout treatment, dental, surgery, and radiology. Intravenous fluid pumps, syringe drivers, and modern anesthesia monitoring. Spacious surgery with heated table, Bair Hugger, excellent quality double-headed lighting, suction, and a wide variety of soft tissue and orthopedic equipment. (orthopedic procedures include CCL repair, luxating patella repair, fracture repair, femoral head and neck osteotomy, extensive soft tissue surgery offered). Dedicated dental suite with floor to bar height adjustable wet table with independent water source, wall mount Midmark Progeny DR dental radiograph, multiple complete extraction kits, and a 2hp Midmark high speed set. Surgical quality lighting in the dental suite. Spacious treatment room with multiple wet tables. Digital radiology suite.
Associate Veterinarian responsibilities will include: -Progressive surgical and dental responsibilities as mentorship progresses -Learning and maintaining hospital preventative care protocols -Communication and follow-up with clients on cases, diagnostics, and in-house monitoring of boarding and daycare cases as necessary. -Manage complicated medical cases in-house with open communication between colleagues -Maintaining a positive clinical culture between staff, clients, patients, and nearby veterinarians. -Client education for all medical decisions and treatments rendered. -Maintain professional integrity in an evidence-based medicine practice.
