    ABOUT THE POSITION

    The critical position of Group Sourcing Manager (GSM) is responsible for the leadership, optimization, strategy, and execution of Strategic Procurement for the category of services and expenditures. These activities include developing annual plans and sourcing strategies that will drive best in class management of spend areas.  The Sourcing Manager has a primary role in deploying the category strategy including negotiating strategic supplier relationships and for creating and implementing procurement process efficiencies Group-wide and is committed to doing so with a high degree of customer service.  Being aware and in tune with the goals of the business are critical to ensure proper alignment and support with the sites’ resources. The GSM has a combination of tactical and strategic sourcing responsibilities, with direct value contribution to the company’s performance and bottom-line results. The GSM – Components is a multidisciplinary professional, able to conduct effective sourcing activities across multiple categories of spend, such as mechanical, hydraulics, electrical, pneumatics, etc.   

     

    KEY DELIVERABLES

    ·         Manage multi-million dollar spend of assigned categories minimizing risk and Total Cost of Ownership

    ·         Execute, in alignment with Global Category Managers, category strategy by managing agreements, supplier relationships and procurement processes.

    ·         Identify and qualify suppliers capable of providing products and services to meet OE and Aftermarket requirements in accordance with SQDC principals

    ·         Facilitate and drive strategic supplier utilization

    ·         Support cost reduction goals established by top management and develop and drive actions to meet the short term and long-term cost reduction goals

     

    KEY ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    ·         Lead Sourcing Strategy & Negotiation - Develop and implement the commodity sourcing strategy through analysis of global markets, raw materials trends, technology, value chain analysis, and long-term sourcing plans. Ensure alignment with Global Category Managers. Prepare for and lead supplier negotiations. Initiate and manage RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs. Manage Standard Contracts and Master Purchase Agreements for category purchases as directed by the business strategies and Corporate Procurement goals.

    ·         Tracking performance of the owned categories against targeting and ensure proper reporting

    ·         Identifying needs of the functional departments regarding procurement-related education and supporting development of training sessions/materials

    ·         Utilize leading practices & tools to drive improvements and cost efficiencies within categories

    ·         Facilitate the collective team’s ability to manage and implement to specification and cost parameters on a timely basis

    ·         Lead change management with cross-functional teams and key contacts both internal and external

    ·         Be an active participant developing and contributing to building, implementing, standardizing, and enforcing procurement department policies and procedures

    ·         Lead “make vs. buy” initiatives and work with the businesses to adjust to a more efficient model at the business level

    ·         Work closely with the Operational Leads (Tactical Buyer) and Material Planning organization to ensure alignment and effective execution of the agreed category strategies and related KPI’s

    ·         Analysis of supplier performance based on metrics and feedback from stakeholders

    ·         Conduct supplier site visits/ audits to leverage full supplier capabilities and confirm that supplier meets quality and performance objectives, including financial assessment

    ·         Drive usage of cost modeling to validate commodity strategies and to understand significant cost drivers

    ·         Provide support to New Product Development teams as required to meet target costs and establish program cost models

    ·         Use strategic sourcing best practices to maximize value in terms of cost savings / avoidance, demand management, risk reduction, and supplier performance.

    ·         Analyze market data to determine industry and consumer trends

    ·         Drive total cost of ownership reduction, through joint process improvements with suppliers

    ·         Other tasks and responsibilities as needed and assigned

     

     

    TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, YOUR EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES ARE:

    ·         BS or BA degree in related field required. Advanced degree preferred

    ·         ASCM or APICS certification as CSCP, CPIM, CLTD, ISM certification, desired

    ·         5+ years’ progressive experience in procurement, operations, and/or supply chain related roles

    ·         Demonstrated leadership capabilities

    ·         Working in and understanding a Matrix Organization is highly desired

    ·         In depth knowledge and experience of strategic procurement processes

    ·         Experience in identifying supply chain business opportunities that maximize profitability

    ·         Experience in leading through influence without reliance on reporting lines

    ·         Demonstrated success in leveraging global spends across the enterprise

    ·         Strong project management and leadership & communication skills

    ·         Highly self-motivated to develop strategic, tactical, and operational direction

    ·         Excellent interpersonal skills to facilitate change management with colleagues and key contacts throughout the company

    ·         Strong data analytical, financial and research capabilities, proven problem-solving skills. Ability to make appropriate decisions.

    ·         Excellent and proven negotiation skills, master at spend segmentation, global and strategic category management, and risk management

    ·         Ability to read, understand legally binding contracts

    ·         Understanding of Source to Pay and Procure to Pay processes, Oracle ERP Systems (or related) preparation and deployment; proficiency with Oracle & Microsoft Office applications; and the ability learn additional IT analytical programs

    ·         Culturally aware and proven emotional intelligence to guide thinking and behavior

    ·         Ability to work within a global matrix organization
