Astrobotic Technology wants you to manage the setup, maintenance and daily operations of our laboratories and clean rooms. You will be responsible for ensuring those spaces have the necessary supplies, equipment, infrastructure functionality to support the development and integration of our products and a quality-controlled environment. You may also provide hands on facility support to ensure our facility environment and operations are maintained. This position is based in the Pittsburgh facility but includes support for the Ambridge PA and Mojave CA facilities as needed.
Job Responsibilities:
- Setup, certify and maintain clean room environments per ISO 14644 requirements.
- Address clean room and controlled laboratory spaces to ensure maintained within required environmental and working conditions.
- Oversee clean room consumables, supplies, garments and garment cleaning services.
- Provides general and detailed maintenance (either with direct or indirect supervision), including patching, painting, hardware repairs and other repair/replacement work as required.
- Perform and record routine facility and equipment maintenance (e.g, HVAC, humidifier/dehumidifier, generator, etc.).
- Develops general equipment and facility maintenance documentation as needed.
- Oversee equipment usage by department and update usage records.
- Ensure that lab and workshop equipment is available for use, assist in planning utilization and equipment calibration controls in with cross department coordination.
- Ensures the fabrication, electronics and clean room labs meets standards for safety, cleanliness, and quality and help enforce lab and equipment usage policies.
- Conduct facility walks to monitor required facility maintenance, lab policy compliance and ensure safe working environment is maintained.
- Oversee company equipment assets and ensure identified and monitored for maintenance through company systems and conduct periodic inventories.
- Partner with engineering staff and procurement agent to identify and order needed tools, equipment, supplies, consumables, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Coordinate with contractors on the construction and setup of new laboratory and workshop space as well as other facility maintenance activities.
** Required Skills & Qualifications:**
- High school, secondary school or equivalent with a minimum of 4 years of experience or Associates degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience.
- Knowledge of ISO-14644 for clean room controls and operation.
- Familiarity with machine shop equipment, power tools, and hand tools and environmental testing equipment.
- Knowledgeable in safety, ESD, and FOD procedures.
- Familiar with clean room standards and working in an IS0 9001 or AS9100 environment.
- Able to lift and move heavy items up to 50 lbs.
- Able to operate pallet jacks, forklifts, cranes and other lift assist devices.
- Able to walk up and down stairs and ladders.
** Desired Skills & Qualifications:**
- A&P / SpaceTec® Certification and/or trade school training
- Experience in system and equipment maintenance of HVAC systems, generators, clean rooms
- Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Highly organized with attention to detail
- Able to work in a fast-paced, evolving engineering and development environment
