Job Description
KIPP New Orleans Schools is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Attendance Manager & School Recruitment Lead to join our team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for overseeing daily attendance processes, maintaining accurate attendance data systems, and implementing strategies to improve attendance and meet campus attendance goals. Additionally, you will lead school recruitment efforts, building partnerships with local schools and childcare centers to achieve enrollment targets across various grade levels. Your efforts will directly support our objectives around student retention, recruitment, and enrollment, contributing to the overall success of our students and school.
Attendance Management:
Oversee daily attendance entry, tracking and reporting processes at your designated school site.
Maintain and update attendance data systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with district and state requirements.
Implement attendance improvement strategies in collaboration with the school operations team and student support services.
Proactively communicate with families to address attendance issues, including making calls and conducting follow-ups to understand and mitigate absences.
Regularly leads school-based attendance team meetings in collaboration with school social workers and MTSS leads.
Recruitment and Enrollment:
Lead the school’s recruitment efforts, focusing on meeting enrollment targets for key grade levels.
Build and maintain partnerships with local schools, childcare centers, and community organizations to support recruitment initiatives.
Develop and execute innovative recruitment strategies and campaigns to attract and retain students.
Organize and participate in all school-based recruitment events, school tours, and open houses to engage potential students and families.
Partnership Development:
In collaboration with the Director of School Operations & Regional Director of Recruitment, establish and nurture relationships with local community organizations and educational institutions to support enrollment goals.
Collaborate with external partners to create pathways for student recruitment and retention.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
Analyze attendance and enrollment data to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities.
Prepare and present regular reports on attendance and recruitment outcomes to school leadership and relevant teams.
Collaboration and Compliance:
Work closely with the school operations team, student support and compliance team, and other key stakeholders to ensure alignment with school goals and compliance with policies.
Participate in school leadership meetings, providing insights and updates on attendance and recruitment efforts.
Qualifications
The following are qualifications are required for the role:
High school diploma or equivalent
The ability to relentlessly plan and prioritize to drive results, build relationships and communicate effectively, and manage and develop self
Successful completion of State and Federal Criminal Background Checks, as well as a complete professional reference check

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer
The following are strongly preferred for the role:
Bachelor’s Degree
2+ years of PreK-12 and/or Operations experience

Must be able to sit and work at a desk/computer for extended periods of time
Must be able to spend the majority of the day standing or mobile throughout the classroom, as well as talk, hear, grasp, reach and lift up to 30lbs with or without accommodations
Ability to concentrate in active and noisy environments such as cafeterias and playgrounds, to more moderate situations such as classrooms or large group professional settings
Must be able to have repetitive wrist/hand/finger movement to work on computer and/or related office equipment
Ability to handle potential high-stress conditions
