Responsibilities: • Analyze client needs, identify solutions, and determine case strategies • Represent clients in court to argue motions during legal proceedings • Preside over paralegals, administrative assistants in connection with keeping track of time records, reviewing client billing, setting up client meetings and completing client projects • Draft correspondence, legal pleadings, motions, and briefs • Complete legal research and prepare motions, pleadings, and briefs Legal Research and Analysis: • Conduct thorough legal research on nursing home abuse and corporate malfeasance related to the operation/management of nursing homes and assisted living facilities; • Analyze statutes, regulations, and case law to build compelling legal arguments; • Stay updated on changes in laws and precedents relevant to nursing home abuse litigation. Motion Practice: • Draft, file, and argue motions in state and federal courts; • Prepare and respond to pleadings, motions, and appellate briefs; • Develop persuasive legal briefs and memoranda. Case Strategy and Management: • Collaborate with the legal team to develop case strategies; • Manage and oversee all aspects of assigned cases, ensuring deadlines are met; • Conduct legal analysis to assess the strengths and weaknesses of cases from a legal strategy perspective in light of relevant statutes and case law. Qualifications: • Advanced computer skills working with legal research programs (Westlaw and Lexis) required • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience working in a law firm environment • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs is needed • Must be able to handle heavy caseload with little supervision • Jobseekers should be a member of their local bar association - active member preferred Association • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. • Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills. • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. • Proven success in drafting and winning motions in court. • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. • Proficient in legal research software and tools. Compensation: $90,000
