As part of the firm, you’ll work alongside forward-thinking peers to provide operational support, focusing on cross-office work allocation, performance, and attorney retention strategies. This role is integral to fostering a collaborative and supportive environment across the firm’s operations, specifically for the Tech practice in California.
Key Responsibilities
- Work Allocation: Oversee cross-office attorney matter assignments for Tech attorneys in California, monitor workloads, and ensure equitable distribution of assignments.
- Data Analytics: Analyze productivity, utilization, recruitment, and departure data and present it to various stakeholders.
- Performance Management: Assist with attorney performance evaluations, advising on sensitive performance issues, and coaching on feedback implementation.
- Advisor Program: Support the execution of the advisor program, assigning advisors and soliciting feedback.
- DEI & Integration: Champion Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives and facilitate the onboarding, integration, and exit of attorneys.
- Training & Development: Collaborate with leadership to identify training needs, suggest programs, and support attorney development of core competencies.
- Employee Relations: Consult on employee relations matters, ensuring effective resolutions.
- Recruitment & Workforce Planning: Work with the recruiting team to ensure workforce planning meets the practice group’s goals.
Candidate Requirements
- Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.).
- Experience: 5+ years in a related field, preferably in a large law firm environment or equivalent legal staffing and attorney development.
- Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
- Excellent organizational skills, managing multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong judgment, maintaining confidentiality and sensitivity.
- Creative problem-solving and people management, with a focus on coaching and mentoring.
