A leading plaintiff-side employment law firm in Glendale is seeking a skilled and passionate Labor and Employment Attorney to join its team. This position offers the opportunity to advocate for employee rights in cases involving workplace discrimination, harassment, wage disputes, wrongful termination, and retaliation. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in California labor laws, a commitment to justice, and a client-first approach to legal representation.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent employees in litigation involving wrongful termination, workplace harassment, discrimination, wage and hour disputes, retaliation claims, and whistleblower protections.
- Handle cases from pre-litigation negotiations through trial advocacy, including drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery.
- File claims with administrative agencies such as the EEOC and California Civil Rights Department (CRD).
- Provide strategic counsel to clients on employment law matters, including navigating complex workplace disputes.
- Draft demand letters and negotiate settlements to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
- Conduct thorough investigations into workplace violations and develop tailored litigation strategies.
- Stay informed on changes in California employment laws to provide proactive legal advice.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in the California State Bar.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in plaintiff-side labor and employment law.
- Strong knowledge of California labor laws, including wage and hour regulations, anti-discrimination statutes, and whistleblower protections.
- Excellent written and oral advocacy skills with a proven ability to manage litigation independently.
Preferred Skills
- Experience handling wage and hour claims, including misclassification issues and unpaid overtime disputes.
- Familiarity with administrative proceedings before agencies such as the EEOC or CRD.
- Effective negotiation skills with a track record of achieving successful settlements for clients.
