We are seeking a skilled and motivated M&A Resource Attorney to join our team. In this role, you will support our M&A practice group by managing databases, drafting and organizing legal documents, monitoring legal updates, and assisting with marketing/business development initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in M&A corporate/transactional law and an ability to contribute to multiple ongoing projects while enhancing the efficiency of the M&A group. This position is focused on internal support rather than client-facing work.
Key Responsibilities
- Transaction Database Management: Input deal terms from signed transactions into our revamped database and collaborate with the knowledge management team to maintain and audit the system.
- Form and Precedent Drafting/Management: Prepare drafts of template documents or revise existing precedents. Curate and organize M&A group resources, including forms and other legal know-how.
- Legal Updates: Monitor developments in M&A law and regulatory changes, preparing summaries and alerts to ensure practice resources reflect new legal requirements.
- Legal Education: Partner with the legal education team to create content for associate training and firmwide educational programs focused on M&A.
- Marketing/Business Development: Work with the marketing team to develop strategies for promoting the M&A practice, including content for blogs, pitches, presentations, and publications.
- Assist with Individual Attorney Requests: Provide ongoing support for attorneys' requests for precedents, templates, and other resources.
- New Initiatives: Contribute to knowledge management, resource development, and practice innovation projects.
- Other Duties: Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- At least 7 years of experience in M&A corporate/transactional law, with knowledge of public and private M&A, corporate governance, and market trends.
- Strong drafting, organizational, and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, especially in document drafting and management.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Flexibility to adapt to evolving resource and knowledge management initiatives.
- Experience with both public and private M&A transactions is required.
Compensation and Benefits
- Expected annual pay range: $275,000 - $335,000 (final offer based on experience and location).
