Join a growing Intellectual Property practice group in our Nashville office. We are seeking a Patent Attorney with up to four years of experience in electrical engineering or computer science. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and collaborative team focused on both U.S. and foreign patent prosecution. Ideal candidates will have a passion for intellectual property law, a keen interest in technology, and the desire to work on challenging patent matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage U.S. and foreign patent prosecution, including preparing patent applications, office action responses, and patentability search reports.
- Review invention disclosures and engage with inventors to understand their innovations.
- Collaborate with third-party drafters to prepare formal figures for patent applications.
- Conduct patentability searches and analyze patent databases.
- Draft written assessments of patent protection prospects.
- Prepare responses to communications from the USPTO and manage patent application dockets.
- Develop arguments for patentability and create office-action responses and appellate briefs.
- Review patents during IP due diligence for potential acquisitions or mergers.

Candidate Parameters:
