We are looking for a qualified VA attorney to join our elder law firm as a Veterans Benefits Attorney. In this position, you will lead a team of dedicated paralegals and act as the main point of contact for our veteran clients, ensuring they receive the compassionate care, attention, and legal guidance they are entitled to. Responsibilities: • Lead and supervise a team of paralegals, providing them with the necessary guidance and support to effectively assist veteran clients. • Serve as the primary contact for veteran clients, delivering clear communication and expert legal advice throughout their cases. • Advocate for veterans in hearings before the Board of Veterans’ Appeals (BVA), ensuring their claims are strongly advocated. • Conduct informal conferences with the VA and other proceedings to champion veterans' benefits. • Offer precise legal guidance to clients and the team on case strategies, ensuring tailored approaches for each veteran. • Draft essential legal documents in support of veterans' claims. • Conduct initial consultations with prospective veteran clients to evaluate their needs and align our support accordingly. • Maintain well-organized client files for easy access and reference by the team. • Collaborate closely with senior attorneys and team members to efficiently resolve cases. • Participate in marketing and networking efforts, including writing articles and speaking engagements to attract new clients when assigned by the Partners. Qualifications: • To be considered for this position, you must be an accredited VA Attorney with a deep understanding of VA law and a track record of handling Veterans Benefits cases successfully. • Strong research and writing skills are essential for crafting legal documents and preparing for hearings effectively. • Experience in leading a team of paralegals or legal staff is highly valued for this role. • While being licensed in Florida is preferred, candidates from other states will be considered if they demonstrate a strong fit for the position.
