Responsibilities: • Handle workers' compensation case from inception to completion, ensuring all procedural requirements are met • Investigate workers' compensation claims, gather evidence, and build a strong case to support our clients • Represent injured workers seeking wage and medical benefits for on-the-job injuries, ensuring they receive the compensation and medical care they deserve • Draft, review, and file 1008 Disputed Claim for Compensation, motions, discovery responses, demand letters, pleadings, subpoenas, memorandums, and other legal documents related to workers' compensation cases • Converse with clients, expert witnesses, supporting witnesses, insurance company adjusters, and medical providers to gather information relevant to workers' compensation claims • Serve as legal counsel on clients’ behalf at hearings, mediations, trials, depositions, and litigation specific to workers' compensation cases • Maintain effective communication with clients, insurance adjusters, medical providers, opposing counsel, the court, and internal team members to efficiently and effectively resolve cases • Draft settlement demands and negotiate settlements with insurance adjusters and/or defense counsel • Prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple cases simultaneously • Provide outstanding customer service to our clients, ensuring their needs are met and their cases are handled with the utmost care and professionalism Qualifications: • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. • Admission to the Louisiana State Bar and in good standing. • Extensive experience in handling workers' compensation cases. • Prior experience representing injured workers strongly preferred. • Strong understanding of Louisiana workers' compensation laws and procedures. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
