We are a fabulous vintage, classic and hot rod automotive restoration shop seeking to hire an experienced Automotive Painter to join our stellar team in Pitman, New Jersey. If you have experience painting vintage automobiles with bodywork, and sheet metal repair knowledge, we want to hear from you!

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Surface preparation: Thoroughly cleaning, sanding, and filling damaged areas on classic car body panels to create a smooth surface for paint application, including addressing rust and corrosion issues.
- Color matching: Researching and precisely matching original paint colors for the specific classic car model, often using color charts and paint mixing techniques to achieve an accurate reproduction.
- Primer application: Applying primer coats to prepared surfaces to create a uniform base for paint and enhance adhesion.
- Paint application: Using spray guns to apply multiple coats of paint with precise control, including base coat, clear coat, and any necessary special effects.
- Detailing and finishing: Inspecting painted surfaces for imperfections like runs, sags, or overspray, and addressing them by sanding and re-applying paint where necessary.
- Minor sheet metal repair: Performing basic sheet metal repairs like dent removal, panel alignment, and minor fabrication to ensure a smooth and accurate surface for painting.
- Knowledge of vintage paint systems: Understanding the unique properties and application methods of paint used on classic cars, including single-stage enamel, lacquer, and modern urethane paints.
- Maintaining paint booth and equipment: Keeping the paint booth clean and properly maintained to ensure optimal painting conditions.
We’re it if this is You:
- 5 years’ experience painting classic, vintage and hot rod vehicles required.
- 5 years' experience with bodywork and metal repair of classic, vintage and hot rod vehicles required.
- Valid Driver’s License Preferred.
- Ability to work independently and with a team.
- Excellent communication skills.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
