Automation Engineer – Hampton, VA

Emerge is recruiting for a direct hire Automation Engineer in Hampton, VA, for a growing manufacturing company. In this role, you will play a key part in implementing advanced automation technology to enhance production efficiency, accuracy, and safety.

-Salary: $90K -$105K
-Bonus: 5%

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain robotic programs for manufacturing processes.
• Design and manage fixtures used in robotic operations.
• Train and support operators in using automation systems.
• Document program changes to track process improvements.
• Identify and validate key process variables to ensure consistency.
• Implement quality controls to confirm successful production steps.
• Support manufacturing and process owners in scrap reduction initiatives.
• Collaborate with vendors and design teams to integrate new automation technology.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience in robotics programming and automation within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with Motoman and/or Fanuc robots.
• Offline programming experience.
• Knowledge of fixture design for robotic cells is a plus.
• Understanding of statistical analysis; Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred.
