    Job Description

    The Opportunity:

    The **** Logistics Promo Planning Automation Engineer is a new position, reporting to the Manager, Logistics Process Improvement Team. This role is responsible for driving identified process improvement opportunities within the Mattel NA Distribution Centers. The candidate will collaborate daily with internal and external customers and partners to increase efficiency, creating innovative automation technologies and procedures. Candidate will lead and manage assigned projects within Mattel guidelines to assure on budget and on time project completion.

    The Team:

    The Logistics Process Improvement Team coordinates and manages projects and processes that improve the cost and service performance of the Mattel NA Distribution Centers. We drive root-cause analysis and cross-functional problem-solving that improve total cost & OTIF fulfillment to our customers. Our focus is on the design, improvement and installation of integrated systems of people, materials, information, equipment and energy.

    What Your Impact Will Be:

    • Evaluate current DC warehouse practices and identify those needing improvement.
    • Ensure that new equipment designs, or process modifications adhere to Mattel safety standards.
    • Manage project schedules and coordinate outside vendor services and costs to maximize productivity and on budget and on time project completion.
    • Supervise the installation of new automated equipment or procedures and ensure proper operation through the creation of operating procedures and guidelines for new machinery or procedures.
    • Develop and submit MOC – Pre PSER documentation for initial project approval by DC Leadership.
    • Develop and submit CER documentation for Mattel Leadership project approval.
    • Establish Factory Acceptance and Site Acceptance Test requirements with vendor of choice.
    • Collaborate with EH&S, Procurement, Finance, Legal and other Mattel Departments as project requires.
    • Create Project file in Engineering SharePoint and keep updated as project progresses.

    What We’re Looking For:

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
    • 2 - 4 years of experience in process automation, robotics, or system engineering.
    • Excellent data analytics, problem-solving, critical thinking, and influencing skills.
    • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Programs including Excel, Access / SQL preferred.
    • Must have some familiarity with programming languages like C, Java, Python, SQL, Perl, HTML, CSS, or XML to write automation scripts for test cases.
    • Self-directed, self-motivated, motivated to develop and grown.
    • Self-learning attitude to keep updated with the advancements in technology.
    • Able to collaborate and effectively communicate verbally and in written form with internal and external customers and partners at all organizational levels.
    • Able to effectively interpret and communicate analysis and results throughout the organization.
