    Job Description

    We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Medical components Manufacturing Automation Engineer to join our team. This role focuses on developing, implementing, and maintaining automated systems and equipment in the production of medical devices and products. The ideal candidate will have experience in automation, robotics, and control systems within the medical device manufacturing industry, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards such as FDA, ISO 13485, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

    Main accountabilities and tasks ****

    1. Automation Systems Design & Implementation
    • Design, implement, and maintain automated manufacturing systems for medical device production lines. This includes working with robotics, automated equipment, PLCs, SCADA, vision systems, and other automated technologies.
    1. Process Optimization
    • Continuously monitor and improve manufacturing processes, utilizing automation to enhance efficiency, reduce variability, and improve quality control.
    • Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at optimizing automation and manufacturing processes, including root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
    1. System Integration & Troubleshooting
    • Integrate automation equipment into existing production lines. Troubleshoot and resolve issues with automated systems, ensuring minimal downtime and maintaining system reliability.
    • Mechanical or electrical troubleshooting of equipment
    1. Regulatory Compliance
    • Ensure that all automation systems and processes comply with regulatory standards, including FDA regulations, ISO 13485, and GMP. Document design, validation, and testing processes for regulatory purposes.
    1. Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams
    • Work closely with engineering, production, quality assurance, and maintenance teams to ensure the successful deployment and maintenance of automation systems.

    • Support qualification and validation activities related to any automation that required qualification

    • Assist in evaluation, and selection of automation equipment based on production needs and cost-effectiveness.

    1. **Training & Support: **
    • Provide training to production staff on new automation systems and equipment. Offer ongoing technical support and troubleshooting as needed.
    1. Technical Skills
    • Proficiency in PLC programming and troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.)
    • Experience with robotics and vision systems integration (e.g., FANUC, KUKA, EPSON, ABB, Cognex, Keyence)
    • Knowledge of SCADA systems and industrial networks
    • Familiarity with automation-related software (e.g., AutoCAD, LabVIEW, etc.)
    1. Problem-Solving Skills
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex automation systems and processes.
    1. Communication & Teamwork
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Work experience : 4 years experience in automation, preferably within a medical device or regulated manufacturing environment

    Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering or related field, or equivalent experience. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., Lean Six Sigma, Certified Automation Professional) are a plus

    Other:

    1. Knowledge of/experience with PLC's and robotics
    2. Strong mechanical, electrical and automation aptitude
    3. Experience in designing and implementing automated solutions for high volume production environments
    4. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
    5. Familiarity with data analytics ad monitoring systems for process optimization
    6. Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodology experience
    7. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
    8. Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
    9. Strong TEAM and LEAD mentality required
    10. Quality orientation and high attention to detail
    11. Complex problem-solving capabilities
    12. Commitment to workplace safety
    13. Must be able to clearly present ideas and reports in written and verbal format.
    14. Ability to work Independently, Self-confident, trustworthy
    15. Must be able to work well with subordinates, peers and superiors in all departments
