    Position Overview
    We are seeking a skilled Automation Technician with a specialization in Allen Bradley PLCs to optimize and maintain automated systems within a dynamic industrial environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong proficiency in Ladder Logic programming, hands-on troubleshooting expertise, and Journeyman-level electrical skills to the role.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Design, develop, and optimize PLC programs using Allen Bradley systems, with a strong focus on Ladder Logic.
    • Diagnose and resolve issues in PLC-controlled systems to ensure smooth and efficient plant operations.
    • Perform programming updates, modifications, and system enhancements for optimal performance.
    • Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to implement and sustain electrical and control system improvements.
    • Interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and technical documents for project and compliance needs.
    • Conduct preventative maintenance and regular equipment inspections to reduce downtime.
    • Integrate new automation technologies and equipment into existing processes.
    • Provide training and support to plant personnel on control systems and automated equipment.

    Qualifications

    • Journeyman-level certification in the electrical field or equivalent hands-on experience.
    • Advanced expertise in Allen Bradley PLC programming, with a solid grasp of Ladder Logic.
    • Minimum of 10 years of industrial automation experience, ideally within manufacturing or energy sectors.
    • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, industrial control panels, and wiring.
    • Ability to interpret and apply electrical schematics, P&ID diagrams, and technical documentation.
    • Hands-on experience with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and related automation tools.
    • Proficiency in using diagnostic software and tools for automation troubleshooting.

    Preferred Skills

    • Familiarity with additional automation platforms (e.g., Siemens, Modicon).
    • Knowledge of industry safety standards and regulatory compliance for industrial environments.
    • Experience in energy, refining, or ethanol production sectors is a plus.

    Working Conditions

    • Primarily plant-based role with occasional on-call responsibilities for critical troubleshooting.
    • Requires work in a fast-paced industrial environment, including confined spaces and elevated platforms.
