PRIMARY FUNCTION

Hart to Heart Transportation is seeking an Automotive Fleet Technician/Mechanic to work in the shop at our Fleet Maintenance Facility servicing the SEPTA paratransit market in Philadelphia. The Fleet Technician will work on SEPTA-operated paratransit vehicles. They will be responsible for the mechanical integrity and operation of the assigned fleet.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and HVAC deficiencies.

2. Make necessary repairs, replacements, and adjustments to fleet buses and paratransit vans.

3. Perform all repairs incidental to State Inspections.

4. Perform basic care and maintenance to include changing oil, checking fluid levels, and rotating tires.

5. Repair or replace worn parts, such as brake pads, wheel bearings, and sensors.

6. Perform repairs to manufacturer and customer specifications.

7. Document automotive problems and repairs for client and internal records.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1. High school diploma or equivalent.

2. Valid Class C driver’s license for 3+ years with safe driving record.

3. At least 21 years of age.

4. HVAC/reclamation certification preferred.

5. Certification for ASE Master Mechanic preferred.

6. Ability to pass pre-hire/random drug and alcohol testing, DOT physical, and criminal background check.

7. Demonstrated knowledge of service area and documented ability to determine the location of and arrive at a street address by use of a map book.

8. Minimum 3 years' automotive repair experience, including bus and paratransit van repair.

9. Certification for air conditioning repair and refrigerant reclamation preferred.

10. Possession of your own basic automotive tools.
