Job Title: Automotive Repair Shop Service Writer

We are currently looking to hire a passionate and detail-oriented Service Writer with a minimum of 3 years of experience in the industry to join our team. Position Overview: As a Service Writer at Resto Motive LLC, you will be the main point of contact for our customers, ensuring their automotive repair needs are met efficiently and professionally. You will also assist with parts inventory management and shop organization to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. Your role will involve balancing customer service with administrative tasks, keeping the shop well-organized, and supporting technicians as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet customers and handle service inquiries, both in person and over the phone.
Accurately document and write service orders based on customer descriptions and technician input.
Provide clear, concise explanations of vehicle issues and recommended services to customers.
Coordinate repair schedules with technicians and ensure timely completion of services.
Track vehicle repairs and keep customers updated on the status of their vehicle.
Process customer transactions, including billing and payment processing.
Maintain accurate records of service history, parts, and labor costs.
Handle customer concerns, resolve complaints, and ensure a positive customer experience.
Manage parts inventory, ensuring that parts are ordered, stocked, and organized efficiently.
Assist with shop organization to ensure a clean and orderly workspace for both customers and technicians.
Collaborate with the shop’s management and technicians to maintain workflow efficiency.
Uphold all company policies and safety standards.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a customer service or service writer role, preferably in the automotive repair industry.
Strong knowledge of automotive repair terminology, parts, and services.
ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certifications are preferred, but not required.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work well under pressure and handle customer concerns professionally.
Experience with parts inventory management and shop organization.
Proficient with shop management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Positive attitude, reliable, and a team player.
High school diploma or equivalent; additional automotive-related certifications or training a plus.
Compensation and Benefits:
Starting pay: $24-26 per hour, depending on experience.
