Responsibilities: • Clearly articulate automotive repair issues and repairs needed to remedy them to both customers and auto mechanics • Use diagnostic equipment, technical expertise, and the vehicle’s integrated diagnostic systems to identify and determine the cause of malfunction codes • Perform routine maintenance, as needed, like checking fluid levels, rotating tires, and oil changes • Follow all manufacturer specifications for vehicle system repairs to ensure optimum customer satisfaction and facilitate returning business • Examine all vehicle systems such as the air conditioning, engine, transmission, and brake systems with a step-by-step approach Qualifications: • Possess a high school diploma or GED • Strong customer service and communications skills are needed • ASE certification or comparable standard service technician credential, such as SAE, is attractive • Automotive service technology training program completion or equivalent years of experience is required; associates degree is a bonus Compensation: $20 - $40 hourly
