  • Responsibilities

    We are seeking a skilled Automotive Mechanic to maintain and repair automobiles, trucks, and construction equipment. This role requires diagnosing and servicing a wide range of vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and hydraulic systems. Work is performed under general supervision with the ability to exercise independent judgment on repair methods.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Vehicle Maintenance & Repair: Diagnose, repair, and overhaul automobiles, trucks, tractors, air compressors, cement mixers, and other equipment.
    • Engine & Transmission Work: Troubleshoot and repair engines, transmissions, clutches, brakes, and hydraulic systems.
    • Electrical & Diagnostic Testing: Test and repair alternators, generators, and electrical components.
    • Wheel & Alignment Checks: Inspect and adjust wheels for proper alignment and balance.
    • State Vehicle Inspections: Ensure compliance with Pennsylvania state regulations for all fleet vehicles.
    • Emergency Roadside Service: Respond to roadside breakdowns and urgent repairs.
    • Welding & Fabrication: Perform minor welding as needed for vehicle repairs.
    • Service Records & Reporting: Maintain detailed service and repair records.

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent.

    • Valid Class B CDL (must pass Class A CDL road test within the probationary period).

    • N or X endorsement for tank vehicles (must obtain within probationary period).

    • No CDL restrictions for manual transmission, air brakes, or truck-trailer combinations.

    • Valid DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate (Physical Card).

    • Valid Pennsylvania State Inspection License: - Class 4 or Class 7 license required; OR

    * Class 1 license with ability to obtain Class 4 or 7 within 90 days.
    
    • Automotive Training & Experience:- Degree or certification in automotive technology; OR
    *  **3+ years of experience** as an automotive mechanic, specializing in **gasoline, diesel, or alternative fuel engines** , electronics, and hydraulic troubleshooting.
    

    Competencies & Skills

    • Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, hydraulics, and diagnostics.
    • Ability to work in physically demanding environments (lifting up to 75 lbs, working overhead, in confined spaces, or at heights).
    • Comfortable working in adverse weather conditions and emergency situations.
    • Detail-oriented problem solver with strong technical skills.
    • Team-oriented, safety-conscious, and reliable.

    Salary info:

    $27.16 - $27.16 / hr
