    Job Description

    Automotive Technician - Looking for someone with the skills and spirit to help grow this company. We are ambitious, goal oriented, and relentlessly committed to our team and our customers.

    Supervisor: Manager/Service Advisor

    Pay: $20-$25/hour depending on experience + $10-$20/flat rate hourly commission. Up to a combined $45/ hour with more available for efficiency bonuses.

    About Us:

    Darrell's Point S is a family-owned business, founded in 1959 by Darrell Lewis. We are part of an international co-op (Point S) that puts us in a unique situation to serve our employees and our customers. We work out of a 7-bay shop that is well-lit and well supplied. We will be growing to fill our other building with-in the next couple of years. Our mission statement is to continue Darrell Lewis' legacy of providing knowledgeable, timely, and friendly auto service to our community.

    Qualifications…

    • Must have at least 4 years of verifiable shop experience.

    • Must be or be willing to quickly become ASE certified in eight areas of automotive service and repair.

    • Must have a valid state driver's license.

    • All technicians must have or obtain tools to do assigned tasks. High level Diagnostic equipment is provided (Autel Maxisys ultra scanner, probes, thermal imager, DLC breakout box, special tools etc.) as well as other diagnostic, service, testing equipment and special tools. Hand tools, impact wrenches, ratchets etc are provided by the technician.

    • Seeking a good diagnostician: someone who can effectively diagnose vehicles with advanced systems such as VVT, CANBUS, ADAS, Hybrid, and other such systems.

    • Must be able to communicate effectively with service advisors and other technicians as needed.

    • Must be willing to attend training both local and otherwise and maintain a high level of knowledge of emerging vehicle systems.

    • Must be able to read wiring diagrams, test electrical components such as switches, resistors, relays, modules, etc.

    • Must be able to lift at least 60 lbs on a regular basis.

    • Must be able to work efficiently with minimal supervision.

    • Must take Extreme Ownership: be accountable for anything done or said while on the job, for good or otherwise.

    Duties and Responsibilities…

    A skilled technician is to establish and maintain customer satisfaction by:

    • Efficiently and accurately diagnosing needed vehicle repairs

    • Must document all diagnostic findings in words and pictures, as well as documenting all repairs done and vehicle maintenance suggestions.

    • Must inform the service advisor if additional time is needed on repairs or diagnosis and substantiate that with valid documentation.

    • Performing timely, efficient and high-quality repairs and maintenance on every vehicle that comes to Darrell’s.

    • Will maintain the image and behavior of a skilled automotive professional at all times.

    • A technician is responsible for their safety and those around them and is expected to follow standard practices for vehicle maintenance, repair, lifting, and service. They are also responsible for upkeep of the facility, especially their own working area.

    • In addition to their own responsibilities, technicians may be asked to train other technicians, or other such responsibilities as seen fit by management.

    • Carry a positive and uplifting attitude while performing all of these responsibilities.
