Our client is seeking a licensed and experienced Aviation Project Engineer to join their team. This role provides the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects for local airport agencies and private clients. The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of 5 years of professional experience, hold a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license, and demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in aviation infrastructure design.

Position: Aviation Project Engineer
Compensation: $100K-$130K
Location: Atlanta, GA

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of aviation infrastructure elements, including pavements, drainage, utilities, lighting/NAVAIDS, security, and fuel facilities.

• Prepare project design calculations and maintain comprehensive design calculation files.

• Ensure the implementation of independent quality control reviews for all project deliverables.

• Manage and coordinate the development of plans, specifications, cost estimates, and pay items.

• Oversee and review drafting processes and the assembly of comprehensive plan sets.

• Develop and assign task work plans to team members while monitoring progress.

• Foster effective communication and collaboration within the design team.

• Organize and lead technical meetings among design staff to address project needs.

• Conduct occasional field construction observations, including out-of-town travel as required.

• Actively participate in relevant professional organizations to stay informed of industry advancements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.

• Current Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience, with expertise in aviation infrastructure design.

• Proficiency in FAA design standards and familiarity with applicable regulations.

• Advanced proficiency in Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) software.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Demonstrated ability to perform complex engineering analysis and design tasks.

• Proven ability to assemble complete design packages, including all required documentation.

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
