    Job Description

    PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND CLE ADMINISTRATOR OR COORDINATOR

    Under the general supervision of the Director (Legal Recruiting and Professional Development), the Administrator or Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating planning and delivery of attorney development training programs and ensuring compliance with Continuing Legal Education (CLE) requirements for all of the firm’s attorneys and for Axinn-sponsored programs. Additionally, the incumbent will be responsible for the following:

    PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

    • Organize and schedule new hire orientation including laterals, summer associates and fall associates.
    • Coordinate and implement a wide variety of attorney training programs across the firm, including large-scale programs, skills-based workshops, practice-specific sessions, individual training classes, and one-on-one coaching sessions.
    • Maintain and update Axinn’s Legal training library on firm’s intranet.
    • Attend LR&PD staff meetings and provide updates.
    • Support the Department and practice groups with other programming and logistical coordination in conjunction with our remote work policy.
    • Contribute to department projects and initiatives related to all aspects of attorney development, including bi-annual attorney review processes.

    CONTINUING LEGAL EDUCATION

    • Manage the CLE process and training programs within Micron’s CE Manager, our internal CLE tracking software, including setting up, monitoring and tracking programs and individual attorney credits within those systems. Regularly evaluate CLE procedures, processes, and workflows; recommend and execute changes as appropriate.
    • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of CLE compliance rules and requirements in various jurisdictions.
    • Oversee the accreditation, issuance of credit, application for and maintenance of accredited provider status, and communication regarding training and professional CLE opportunities.
    • Handle all aspects of the CLE process for client- and prospect-facing programs, including coordination with Axinn attorneys on requirements and deadlines for CLE approval, making applications, distributing necessary CLE materials pre- and post-program, and communicating directly with attendees and client contacts as needed. Liaise with the Marketing & BD team to ensure the success of these events. Assist with the coordination of client based CLE courses and work with BD team to get state bar accreditation.
    • Regularly interface with attorneys to support them in complying with their CLE requirements.
    • Assist with Conflict Clearing process for incoming lateral hires.
    • Other duties as assigned

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS:

    • BA/BS degree and prior professional services or law firm experience highly preferred
    • Proficiency with learning management systems and CLE tracking software (including Micron CE Manager) highly preferred
    • Prior knowledge of CLE rules and accredited provider requirements, namely for New York and California highly preferred. Ability to interpret CLE rules in all U.S. jurisdictions and make credit and rule determinations with minimal oversight.
    • Familiarity compiling end of year accredited provider reports as well as accredited provider renewal applications (should we become a CLE certified firm).
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
    • General knowledge of office equipment and tools
    • Strong Microsoft Office skills – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and various document management tools.
    • Ability to build rapport with attorneys and professional staff
    • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
    • Self-starter with high initiative and the ability to work independently but within a team environment

    POSITION DETAILS

    This is a full-time, benefits eligible, non-exempt position with a standard 35-hour scheduled work week. Hours may be flexible, but generally must conform to a multi-state/time zone operational need (i.e. 9:00 to 5:00 M-F). Final wage will be commensurate with the incumbents experience, final title, and work location.
