Job Description: Nurse Practitioner - Ortho Spine & Pain Management / Neuro
Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) with specialization in Ortho Spine & Pain Management or Neuro to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background in managing patients with spine disorders, chronic pain, or neurological conditions. This role involves comprehensive patient care, including diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up, with a focus on improving patient outcomes and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
Conduct comprehensive assessments, including patient history, physical exams, and diagnostic tests. Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions related to the spine, pain management, or neurological disorders. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, physical therapists, and pain management specialists, to provide holistic care. Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and provide ongoing support and education. Procedural Duties:
Perform minor procedures related to pain management, such as joint injections, nerve blocks, or trigger point injections, under supervision as needed. Assist in pre-operative and post-operative care for surgical patients, ensuring optimal recovery. Patient Education and Counseling:
Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications to manage symptoms effectively. Provide counseling on pain management techniques, including medication adherence, physical therapy, and behavioral strategies. Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with supervising physicians to ensure continuity of care and adherence to best practices. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to coordinate care and address any concerns or questions. Documentation and Compliance:
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records (EHR) in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements. Ensure compliance with all clinical policies, procedures, and protocols, including infection control and patient safety standards. Professional Development:
Stay updated with the latest advancements in ortho spine, pain management, and neuro through continuous education and training. Participate in professional organizations, conferences, and workshops to enhance clinical skills and knowledge. Qualifications:
Education: Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited program. Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) in Family Practice, Adult-Gerontology, or a related specialty. Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical setting, preferably in ortho spine, pain management, or neurology. Experience in performing minor procedures related to pain management is a plus. Licensure/Certification: Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Texas. Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS). Skills and Abilities: Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills. Proficient in the use of electronic health records (EHR). Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
