Job Title: Senior Azure Cloud Engineer (On-Site/Contract until end of May 2025)
Location: DMV Area (Washington D.C., Maryland, Virginia)
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Azure Cloud Engineer to join our team. This is an on-site position requiring candidates to reside in the DMV area. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Microsoft Azure and enterprise-level cloud infrastructure, along with strong communication and leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, configure, and optimize Azure infrastructure solutions.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Azure CLI, Puppet, and Ansible.
- Lead and participate in medium to large-scale enterprise infrastructure projects, ensuring operational efficiency.
- Utilize scripting skills (Perl, Python, PowerShell) to automate and enhance workflows.
- Manage source code using GIT and collaborate across teams using Azure DevOps and Terraform Cloud.
- Collaborate within Agile frameworks to ensure efficient project delivery.
- Oversee CI/CD processes, ensuring seamless deployment and operations across various platforms.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to team members and cross-functional partners.
- Participate in system administration, networking, data protection, and information security initiatives.
- Utilize Jira and ServiceNow for issue tracking and management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 8+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including design, deployment, and optimization.
- 8+ years of experience with IaaS and PaaS solutions.
- Strong background in enterprise infrastructure, databases, and application systems.
- Proficiency in Agile methodologies.
- Expertise in IaC development (Terraform, Azure CLI, Puppet, Ansible).
- Advanced scripting skills (Perl, Python, PowerShell).
- Proficiency with GIT for source code management.
- Experience with Terraform Cloud, Azure DevOps, Jira, and ServiceNow.
- Broad IT skills, including networking, systems administration, CI/CD tooling, and information security.
- Strong communication skills with an ability to mentor and teach.
Additional Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship required due to scope of work.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
