Responsibilities:
Read and interpret blueprints, operating sheets, sketches and other related technical data to determine proper tooling requirements, setup procedures, control settings and machining method and sequences.
Calculate and set machine controls to position spindle in relationship to work in piece and to regulate factors such as cutting depth, speed, feed, and coolant flow.
Load control media such as tape, card or disk in machine controller, or enters commands to retrieve programmed instructions from database.
Input all SPC information as defined by the engineering community, to establish and maintain process controls,either through automatic download or manually.
Generate, assemble and inspect bearings and bearing components.
Mount, align and secure tooling, attachments and work piece on the machine.
Select and install cutting tools in machine spindle.
Inspect and verify all features using appropriate inspection methods.
Start machine, monitor displays and machine operation to detect malfunctions or deviations.
Stop machine to change cutting tools and setup according to required machining sequence or to measure parts for conformance to blueprint specifications.
Enter commands, or manually adjust machine controls, to correct malfunctions and out-of-tolerance machining.
Operate machine manually to perform non-automated functions, when automatic programming is faulty, or when machine malfunctions.
Discuss control media errors with supervisor or programming personnel to resolve problems.
Clean machine, tooling and parts.
Perform machine maintenance, housekeeping and other duties as assigned by supervision.
Develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing methods, processes, tools, gages and fixtures.
Setup and operate Manual and CNC Milling, Turning and Grinding equipment.
Perform maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment, fixtures and gages.
Capable of being trained to develop N/C programs during setup utilizing "M" code, "G" code, Mazatrol, or Esprit software for EDM.
Meet all contractual quality requirements to meet final blueprint drawings, inspection methods and techniques .
Train other technicians on Manual and CNC equipment.
Ability to move material and racks.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years' experience inset-up and operation of CNC Milling, Turning and Grinding equipment.
High School diploma, or GED equivalent.
Ability to demonstrate CNC control abilities, including: editing speeds, feeds, tool offsets and fixture offsets on milling, turning, EDM and grinding equipment.
Ability to develop NC programs during set-ups utilizing "G" code, "M" code, mazatrol, or esprit software for EDM.
Demonstrate CNC abilities on a test piece, if requested during interview process.
Experience reading and interpreing complex blueprints, and interpreting geometric tolerancing (GD&T) per ANSI Y14.5.
Demonstrated ability to utilize a varitey of measuring instruments including: dial bore gages, indicator snap gages, verniers, and .0001 micrometers.
Possess the necessary skills to follow complicated procedures and document accordingly.
Proven ability to use multi-axis grinding contouring as well as grinding wheel dressing and grit/size selection to ensure that tight tolerances meet blueprints.
Own personal tools, as applicable
