    Job Description:

    We are seeking a compassionate Middle/High School Resource Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep commitment to supporting students with diverse learning needs and will be responsible for creating and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) to help students succeed academically and socially. This position offers a unique opportunity with a caseload of fewer than 14 students and resource classes that range in size from 2 to 5 students allowing for highly personalized instruction and support.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs, in collaboration with parents, teachers, and other support staff.

    • Provide one-on-one or small group instruction tailored to the specific needs of students.

    • Monitor and assess student progress, adapting instructional strategies as needed to ensure academic growth.

    • Collaborate with general education teachers to create inclusive learning environments and integrate special education support into the classroom.

    • Maintain clear and accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student achievements and areas for improvement.

    • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, contributing insights and recommendations for student support and development.

    • Foster a positive and supportive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and self-confidence.

    Qualifications:

    • Valid state certification in Special Education.

    • Experience working with students with diverse learning needs.

    • Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and staff.

    Preferred Skills:

    • Ability to assist students with general education classroom work

    • Familiarity with various educational technologies and adaptive learning tools.

    • Experience with behavioral intervention strategies and classroom management techniques.
