Follows the Directions of the Bakery Manager
• Labels and stocks all ingredients and products so they can be organized and easily accessible • Measures ingredients to be used in baking
• Maintains a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash and other duties (following procedures on check-lists) • Ensures all food and other items are stored properly • Complies with nutrition and sanitation, and safety guidelines • Performs other kitchen duties as assigned • Is a team player and assists with other kitchen duties when needed • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, operate kitchen machinery (age requirements may apply), stooping, bending required.
o Keep work area, tools, tool box, equipment, supplies, ingredients and products organized, clean and in their proper place.
o Stock refrigerators, ingredient bins, baked good ingredients and baked good packaging.
o Follow the directions of the BOH manager, pastry chef and lead baker.
o Check in stock and place in proper storage areas (i.e. refrigerator, freezer or dry storage) using the FIFO rotation method.
o Read, comprehend and perform assigned recipes in the bakery production schedule.
o Learn technical terminology of all bakery, kitchen small wares, tools and equipment
o Learn all technical terminology of all bakery ingredients
o Memorize names of pastries and breads in bakery production within 30 days.
o Memorize storage areas for all ingredients for bakery production
