    Job Description

    Baldwin Electric Membership Corporation (Baldwin EMC) is looking for a District Engineer to join our growing group of professional engineers.     ABOUT THIS ROLE

    In this highly visible role, you will be responsible for all South Baldwin district operational engineering requirements. You will formulate plans and specifications for distribution facilities, coordinate priorities, and construction schedule with operations. You will oversee: (1) The service extension function, including staking of lines and approval of work orders; (2) The inspection function, including construction work done under contract as well as by cooperative personnel; (3) The contracting function, arranging for and oversight of contractors when necessary for distribution construction, joint use of facilities and distribution maintenance requirements; (4) The right of way function, including the securing of necessary right of way agreements and forward to Manager of Engineering for processing; and (5) Checking of distribution lines for compliance with code clearance of roads, telephone lines, transmission lines and building crossings.     MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering. Must have at least three years prior experience. Must be experienced in line design and be familiar with engineering management functions. Must be able to effectively interact with members of all social economic levels. Training or experience in supervision and managerial human resource skills is desired. Fundamentals of Engineering certification is preferred. Valid driver license required. Must have good leadership and organizational skills.

    WORKING CONDITIONS: In order to develop and improve skills and stay abreast of new procedures and technologies, you must periodically travel to training workshops. In order to help Baldwin EMC provide reliable service, you may be subject to call out during adverse weather or other emergencies to assist line workers, supervisors, or crews to restore service.
