    THE OPPORTUNITY

    Performs, evaluates and reports all ballistic testing activities for existing Galvion products as well as non-ballistic incoming/in process inspection. This position will ensure that testing timelines are met; results are well documented and reported in appropriate format and timely fashion.

    WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

    • Perform ballistic testing on existing Military products and received goods in a timely manner to support production needs.

    • Perform non-ballistic testing on Galvion products and received goods in a timely manner to support production needs.

    • Evaluate test results for compliance and indicate test status on production material.

    • Prepare (measure, mark, assemble) helmets submitted for ballistic and non-ballistic testing.

    • Ensure all lab equipment in the lab is appropriately maintained and verify calibration status prior to use.

    • Monitor all necessary lab supplies and tools inventories, report to supervisor when additional supplies are required.

    • Develop strong knowledge and understanding of Microsoft office and its use as it pertains to ballistic and non-ballistic testing and reporting.

    • Develop strong understanding of standards and specifications for non-ballistic testing.

    • Develop understanding and use of FARO arm in conjunction with PolyWorks software to analyze product and report accordingly.

    • Develop strong understanding of reloading components and their application as it pertains to ballistic testing and lab maintenance.

    • Develop strong knowledge of standards and specifications which relate to the testing of production materials.

    • Ensure all safety requirements are followed at all times.

    • Ensure work area is clean, safe and organized at all times.

    • Perform incoming and in process inspections per inspection guidelines.

    • Maintain accurate documentation of all test results and insure proper paperwork is filed.

    • Release components tested per processes and procedures from incoming inspection.

    • Provide recommendations for improving quality of process and components.

    • Complete Non-Conforming Reports as required.

    • Ensure that all duties are performed in a timely manner consistent with applicable quality, safety guidelines and procedures.

    • Perform visual inspection of armor products throughout the production process as required.

    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

    • College or CEGEP degree in a technical discipline preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    • Experience with ballistic testing, loading ammunition, and the storing of weapons and ammunition.

    • Experience in manufacturing and/or laboratory environment preferred.

    • Computer literate, proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Project specifically).

    • Mechanically inclined with electrical hardware knowledge.

    • Position requires a person who is meticulous and quality conscious; motivated and creative problem solver.

    • Experience with analytical test equipment is a plus.

    • Clear written and verbal communication skills.

    • Fast learner with excellent time management skills.

    • Possess creative problem solving skill with the ability to work in a team environment.

    • Understanding of ISO process, certification and compliance required.

    • Willingness to learn new jobs, testing methods and techniques.

    • Must be adaptable to rapidly shifting priorities and testing schedules.

    • Ability to utilize standard measuring devices for quality inspections required.

    • Experience in a manufacturing and/or distribution environment preferred.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT (include physical requirements)

    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds required.

    • Ability to perform repetitive tasks.

    • Hearing, respiratory and eye protection required.

    • Subject to quarterly lead testing to ensure compliance with Galvion's lead safety program.

    • Subject to annual fit testing to ensure compliance with Galvion's respiratory protection program.

    • Some travel may be required between Galvion facilities.
