Job Description
** SUMMARY**
The Banquet Bartender is of service in a friendly, courteous, helpful, timely, and professional manner. The role is to prepare beverages for guests and attendees following recipes and guidelines for preparation, presentation and accountability in a cost-efficient manner. The Banquet Bartender will ensure compliance with all liquor laws in the preparation, serving and consumption of alcoholic beverages in the restaurant. This position will maintain high service standards and provide all orders and services that have been contracted on Banquet Orders. In the absence of leadership, the Banquet Bartender is responsible for carrying out the details involved in the event or tasks relative to that particular shift.
_ ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES include but are not limited to the following: _
Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
Display an outgoing, friendly and welcoming personality to guests, attendees, and colleagues at all times
Use professional guest relations and communications skills
Display a full knowledge of event menus, timing and luxury guest service
Engage and genuinely interact with guests during events while anticipating their needs
Maintain high level of attentiveness while serving guests
Prepare beverages following Accor and Fairmont recipes and guidelines for preparation
Follow all directives instructed by the leadership team
Display a positive attitude toward teamwork
Comply with liquor laws
Maintain accountability, both personal and financial
Maintain cleanliness and organization of bar prep area and bar
Control cost and waste
Follow all cash handling policies
Be pro-active by assisting co-workers
Practice safe lifting and transporting techniques at all times
Clear, clean, reset, and maintain meeting space including bars and chairs during shift.
Assist other colleagues in offering the highest level of service.
Understand the processes of delivery and removal of all product and equipment.
Use great care and respect in working with all Fairmont Breakers equipment and property
Work harmoniously with other hotel departments
Follow all safety and sanitation policies, especially when handling food and/or beverage
Occasional secondary skills such as serving, and room set-up
Demonstrate pride in the Event department and Fairmont Breakers
Report safety hazards immediately
Display a congenial appearance and is well groomed at all times.

Qualifications
** QUALIFICATIONS** __ To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Minimum one year experience in Food & Beverage service, preferably in an Events or Catering setting
Excellent knowledge of Spirits, Cocktails, Wine, and Beer
Highly responsible and reliable. Can work with minimal supervision
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a small team and independently
Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the English language.
Requires excellent and polished communication skills
Ability to solve problems and make rational decisions.
Must have superior guest service abilities
Possess a proven track record for guest satisfaction
Possess a strong sense of urgency
Display a pleasant and cheerful disposition
Maintain a high level of integrity
Display a confident and professional appearance at all times and always meet company grooming standards
Adapt in difficult situations with problem-solving abilities, and make decisions when necessary
Show eagerness and capacity to learn
Able to work flexible hours, mornings, evenings, week days, weekends, and holidays
Must be able to obtain a Food Handler Certification
Must be able to obtain TIPs or Alcohol Safety Certification

Must be able to walk throughout the hotel, stand, and exert well-paced mobility for periods of up to 8 hours in length
