    Are you a Sous Chef looking for an exciting, new opportunity?! Ralph's American Grill is Hiring!! We are looking for an individual who will provide strong HANDS ON leadership to foster the development of the culinary and utility staff. The Sous Chef is responsible for specifying product standards, controlling and maintaining food inventories and assuring smooth and safe operations. Responsible for managing and adhering to all aspects of the culinary budget. Will also provide assistance to the Executive Chef. Ask us about our Sign on Bonus!


    Primary Responsibilities:

    1. Along with our Food and Beverage Team, Trains and Supervises Kitchen and Utility Personnel with an emphasis on upholding a Culture of being Distinct and Sophisticated in all of our offerings
    2. Works with Executive Chef to develop menus as well as assists with menu costing and product procurement
    3. Prepares meats and seafood for line and special functions
    4. Prepares all sauces, stocks, chili and soups
    5. Prepares Food Orders
    6. Supervises the receiving of product to ensure proper quality and quantity is delivered
    7. Ensures daily prep, production, and cleaning checklists are completed according to standards
    8. Maintains the highest level of security and safety standards for both our guests and associates
    9. Schedules associates based on business volume
    10. Assists in any special events scheduled on property
    11. Ensures that both Kitchens and Storage Areas are clean, organized, and well stocked, and maintains all par levels
    12. Ensures that all food products are used on a timely basis
    13. Prepares food in accordance with restaurant recipes
    14. Aids and assist other areas of the kitchen as needed
    15. Sets up, maintains, breaks down and cleans work stations
    16. Serves items in accordance with established portion and presentation standards
    17. Communicates effectively in a spirit of teamwork and partnership with our Executive Chef, Sous Chefs, and Associates
    18. Ensures that assigned work stations and equipment are clean and sanitary
    19. Maintains neat professional appearance and observes personal cleanliness rules at all times
    20. Requisitions supplies needed to produce items on menu
    21. Adheres to state and local health and safety regulations
    22. Covers, dates and properly stores all product
    23. Assists with other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef
    24. Works Closely with the Restaurant Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef to Supervise Kitchen staff as schedule dictates

    Physical Requirements:

    These physical demands represent the physical requirements necessary for an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. Reasonable accommodation can be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the described essential functions of the position.

    1. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and /or 80 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
    2. Ability to stand for long hours at the time.

    Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:

    1. High School Diploma
    2. 5+ years’ experience in an upscale banquet kitchen
    3. 2 years’ management experience
    4. Culinary degree preferred
    5. ServSafe Certified
    6. Long hours sometimes required, primarily on weekends.
    7. Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly
    8. Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
    9. Must be effective in handling opportunities in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary
    10. Must be effective at listening to, understanding and clarifying concerns and issues raised by team members and guests
    11. Must have the Spirit of Hospitality and enjoy Guest Service, to both our internal and external guests
