Job Title: Bar Manager

Position Overview
The Bar Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of bar operations, including staff management, inventory control, menu development, and customer service. This role ensures that the bar maintains a high-quality, welcoming environment while meeting business standards for compliance and profitability. The Bar Manager works closely with other departments to deliver a seamless guest experience and uphold the venue’s commitment to excellence and high-end hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
Staff Management: Recruit, interview, and hire bar staff. Conduct training sessions to ensure staff are knowledgeable about the bar menu and service standards.
Scheduling: Create and manage staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage during all operating hours.
Staff Performance: Monitor staff performance, provide constructive feedback, and conduct regular performance evaluations.
Inventory Control: Conduct regular inventory checks, manage ordering, and maintain strong relationships with vendors for bar supplies.
Menu Development: Create, update, and innovate cocktail menus, ensuring seasonal trends and high-quality ingredients are incorporated.
Quality Assurance: Ensure drinks are prepared and presented to the highest standard through regular quality checks.
Customer Engagement: Engage with guests, resolve complaints professionally, and cultivate a welcoming, upscale atmosphere.
Compliance & Safety: Enforce health and safety regulations, ensuring compliance with alcohol service laws and responsible service practices.
Budgeting & Cost Control: Develop and manage the bar’s budget, monitor expenses, and implement cost-control measures.
Promotions & Events: Collaborate with the events team on bar-related promotions and special events.
Marketing: Work with the marketing team to promote the bar’s offerings and maintain a strong online presence.
Team Coordination: Coordinate with the kitchen, dining, and events teams to ensure seamless service and a cohesive guest experience.
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a bar management role or similar experience in a high-end establishment.
Bar Operations Expertise: Strong knowledge of bar inventory management and cost control.
Cocktail & Menu Development: Experience in cocktail creation, menu development, and trend analysis.
Customer Service Skills: Excellent guest engagement skills and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
Compliance Knowledge: Thorough understanding of health and safety regulations, and alcohol service laws.
Leadership: Proven leadership skills in hiring, training, and managing bar staff.
Financial Acumen: Proficient in budgeting, sales analysis, and financial reporting.
Work Flexibility: Ability to work evenings, weekends, and flexible hours as needed.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
Extended periods of standing, with occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing physical tasks related to bar operations.
Flexibility in scheduling, including availability for nights, weekends, and special events.
